I am currently employed by TikTok where I help maintain our data platform’s vectorized query execution library, Bolt. Bolt can be used as an engine to speed up query execution in a wide variety of open source database systems such as Spark, Presto, or ClickHouse.
I have been working as an engineer on open source project in the big data and analytics ecosystem for the past decade. I have lots of thoughts about where we’re headed as an industry and how to achieve and measure performance across a wide variety of workloads.
